Here’s one I took of my kids a month or so ago. I just recently edited it and kinda love it….
Oh, I know, I’m SUCH a bad mom! I’ve had these pics done and everything since his birthday, and I’m just now posting them. November and December (and October too!) have just been crazy busy and I honestly am having a hard time keeping my head straight. So, my apologies to my awesome boy, but better late than never!
As you many know, my sweet little boy has grown into a pretty amazing big boy. I don’t know how it happened, but there is pretty much no trace of little boy left in him. He has grown (physically and emotionally!) so much this year, probably more so than any other year if you don’t count babyhood. He’s FUNNY! He’s sweet, he’s smart, he’s eager to learn. He LOVES school. He has so many friends now and it makes him so happy. He’s creative! In the past few months, he went from absolutely no interest in drawing/art, to really loving it. I know I’m his mom, but dare I say that I see a talent? ♥ I’m so proud of him, and love him so much. He brings me so much joy. Happy (belated) Sixth Birthday to one incredibly awesome kid.
So, now on to the fun stuff! Aidan wanted to have his party at a bowling alley this year. We let him invite a few school friends and we had a blast!
I’m a little late in blogging this, but things have been a bit hectic to say the least! It’s been quite a while since I’ve posted any of my own kiddos! Last weekend our city held their annual Halloween in the Park. It’s fun time when local businesses set up a booths for the kids to trick or treat at while they promote their business. There are also some carnival rides, and cider and donuts, hayrides. The kids love it!
Here are the kids in their costume
Yay for candy!!!!
I know it’s a bit out of focus, but the kids got to enjoy a train ride
Once Addie heard the Scooby Doo theme playing by the stage, she wanted to go dance. I absolutely LOVE this pic of her. Notice the tongue sticking out? She is SO my girl!
And this one is so cute. The next song was the Cha Cha Slide and she was totally into it. First time she ever heard it, but she knew what to do!
Or….inside the box actually! My good friend Rachel and her very talented photographer husband have what is very famously known as (in the Flickrverse) the metal box. Vic has been taking photos in this metal box that he made as a photo backdrop. You can see his AWESOME work here…
Victor Koos’ awesome Flickr stream
Last night I got the opportunity to play with Victor’s metal box and off camera flash! This is a whole new world to me and I admit that I needed Vic to set everything up.
The camera loves Rachel!
The fabulous couple!
OK, so a couple of weeks ago I’m in the kitchen washing dishes. My sink overlooks my family room and I see Addie concentrating hard on her little pink laptop. I asked her what she was up to, and she responded that she was making her pictures pretty like mommy. Ummm, yeah, lump in the throat, hold back the sob! ♥ ♥ ♥
Last week I was able to squeeze in a little session of my nephews for my sister. These little guys are quite the handful, but oh so cute! We decided to check out a place that I’ve been meaning to go to since I’ve lived on this side of town. The Edsel Ford House, which is absolutely GORGEOUS! We didn’t even go inside, but spent some time on the grounds just looking around! We had to be quick because the sky was very ominous! In fact we just missed the rain that hit my house which was only a couple of miles away!
Here’s Elliot! I just LOVE his red hair and green eyes!
And now it’s Addison’s turn! Yes, now that she’s entered the grown up world of preschool she prefers to be referred to as Addison and not Addie. I was a bit taken aback by her decision to change to her full name. But I guess this is what life is when you have a very opinionated three your old. It has been a bit of an adjustment and you better believe she’ll correct you if you call her Addie. As in if I say, “Come here Addie”, she’ll interrupt and say in her scolding voice “Add-i-SIIINNNN!”. Oh boy.
So AddiSON finally got her chance to go to school. She’s been looking forward to this day for a long time now!
A little collage of pics before leaving that I put together….
I didn’t get many once we were at the school, but this one cracks me up. I don’t know why the funny face…I believe I told her to turn around so that I could get light on her face and she saw the playground out the window? Regardless, the expression cracks me up!
WOW, I can hardly believe that Aidan is starting kindergarten. I swear it was only yesterday that he started preschool! He was very excited and I was too. This is such a big day! Of course, I would have gotten these up yesterday, but I was exhausted from all the excitement. This is as much of a change in routine for me as it is for him. I’m sure with a little time, we’ll all adjust.
Here he is just before heading out! He looks so big!!!!
Nothing overly exciting. Last week Addie wanted to go for a scooter ride and I took the camera since the light was so pretty.
Getting ready to head out. Poor girl inherited her brothers Spiderman three wheel scooter. She’ll probably punish me for this later in life.
That’s right, Aidan did! Somewhere along the way my little boy became big and lost his first tooth! He’s so excited and proud, and so is his mom. It’s so surreal that he’s losing those sweet little teeth that seemingly only came in yesterday. *sigh* But enough of me being sappy, check out his new grin!
